Us Se Kehna

Bikhar rahi hai meri zaat Use kehna,
Kabhi mile, to yahi baat Use kehna.

Wo sath tha, to Zamana tha humsafar mera,
Magar ab koi nahi mere saath, Use kehna.

Use kehna, ke bin Uske din nahi katta mera,
Sisak-Sisak ke katti hai meri raat, Use kehna.

Use pukarun, ke khud hi pahunch jaun Uske paas,
Nahi rahey wo halaat, Use Kehna.

Har jeet, Uske naam, kar raha hun main,
Main maanta hun apni haar, par kahin wo ise apni jeet na samajhle,
.............
Usey kehna :((

Ik kudi, Jida Naa M....

Here is the English version of the famous poem/song "Ik kudi jida naa Mohabbat" by Shiv Kumar Batalvi for my special readers who might not be much familiar with typical Punjabi.

Here is the original link :
http://vikramjeetsingh-hp.blogspot.in/2009/05/tribute-to-legend-shiv-kumar-batalvi.html

Hope you like it & please follow the meaning:

A girl whose name is Mohabbat

Is lost.
Simple, beautiful,
She is lost.

Her beauty, ethereal
Virtuous, like Mary,
Her laughter, blossoms falling,
Her gait, a poem.
Tall as a cypress,
Barely alight,
Yet she undertands the language of a glance.
It has been ages since she was lost
Yet it feels like yesterday,
It feels like today.
It feels like now.

She was standing beside me just now,
She is beside me no more.
What deception is this? What trickery?
I am bewildered.
My eyes examine every passerby,
Scanning their faces,
Searching for that girl.

When evening descends upon the bazaar
And perfumes erupt at every corner,
When restlessness and tiredness
Collide with leisure,
Isolated in that noise,
Her absence eats at me.
I see her
Every moment I feel as though –
Every day I feel as though –
From this throng of people,
From this crowd of odors,
She will call out to me,
I will recognize her,
She will recognize me.
But from this flood of noise
Nobody calls out to me,
Nobody looks toward me.

But, I don’t know why I feel
Indistinctly, obscurely,
Every day, through every crowd,
As though her form moves past me
But I am not able to see her.
I am lost in her face
And stay lost in it
I keep dissolving in this grief.
I keep melting in this grief.
I beg this girl, for my sake,
I beg her for her own sake,
I beg her for everyones sake
I beg her for the sake of this world,
I beg her for the sake of God,
If somewhere she reads or hears this
Whether she be alive or dying
That she come and meet me once
That she not stain my love.
Else I will not be able to live,
I will not be able to write a song.

A girl whose name is M....
Is lost.
Simple, beautiful,
She is lost.

She's lost for a long time now,
You better return my Dearest !

You're required,
Infact You are the ONLY requirement !!

Tribute to a Legend - Shiv Kumar Batalvi

Shiv Kumar was a born (romantic) poet who migrated from the poetic region of Sialkot to Batala at the most miserable moment of the human history-1947.The pangs of separation are recurrent themes of this great lyricist of the land. He has been hailed as one of the great poets of all times.

Shiv Kumar was born on July 23, 1936 in Bara Pind Lohtian (Shakargarh tehsil), in Punjab (now Pakistan){quite near to the Ranjha's pind, as well as mine}.
As a child Shiv is said to have been fascinated by birds and rugged, thorny plants on the Punjabi landscape.

Shiv passed his matriculate exams in 1953, from Punjab University. He went on to enrol in the F.Sc. programme at Baring Union Christian College in Batala. Before completing his degree he moved to S.N. College, Qadian into their Arts program. It is here that he began to sing ghazals and songs for his classmates. Shiv never gave the final exams he needed to pass to receive his degree.

Around this period, he met a girl named MAINA (M factor here as well) at a fair in Baijnath, now in Himachal. When he went back to look for her in her hometown, he heard the news of her death and wrote his elegy "Maina". Perhaps the most celebrated episode is his fascination for a daughter who left for the US and married someone else. When he heard of the birth of her first child, Shiv wrote "Main ek shikra yaar banaya", perhaps his most famous love poem.

By 1968 he had moved to Chandigarh, but both Batala and Chandigarh became soulless in his eyes. There were complaints about his drinking and some suggestions that his friends had him drink so he would exhibit his outrageous self. Shiv Kumar died in the 36th year of his life on May 7, 1973 in his father-in-law's house near Pathankot.

Lets have a look at the most touching of his works I found today:

Ik kudi, jida naa Mohabbat
Gumm hai !
Saad muraadi, Sohni phabat
Gumm hai, gumm hai,
Soorat usdi, pariyaa vargi,
Seerat di oh mariyam lagdi,
Hasdi hai taan, phul ne jhad de,
Turdi hai taan, gazal hai lagdi.
Lamm-salammi, saru kad di,
Umar aje hai marke ahg di,
Par naina di, gal samajhdi.

Gummiyaa janam, janam han hoye,
Par lagdi jyun, kal di gal hai,
Iyon lagdi, jyun aj di gal hai,
IyoN lagdi, jyun hun di gal hai.

Hune taan mere, kol khadi si,
Hune taan mere, kol nahi hai,
Eh kee chaal hai? Eh kee bhatkan?
Soch meri, hairaan badi hai,
Us kudi nu, tol rahi hai.
Nazar meri, har aunde-jaande,
Chehre da rang, phol rahi hai,
Us kudi nu, tol rahi hai.

Saanjh dhale, baazaaran de jad,
Modaan te khushbu ugdi hai,
Vihal, thakaavat, bechaini jad,
Chau-raaheyaan te aa judi hai,
Raule lappe, tanhaayi vich,
Us kudi di, thur khaandi hai,
Us kudi di, thur disdi hai.

Har chin mainu iyon lagda hai,
Har din mainu, iyon lagda hai.
Jude jashan di bheedaan vichon,
Jude mehak di jhurmat vichon,
Oh mainu, awaaz devegi,
Main ohnu pehchaan lavaanga,
Uh mainu pehchaan levegi,
Par, is raule de har vichon,
Koi mainu, awaaz na denda,
Koi vi mere, val na vehnda.

Par khaure kyun, tapala lagda,
Par khaure kyun, jhaula painda,
Har din, har ik bheed judi vichon,
Butt uda, jyun langh ke jaanda,
Par mainu hi, nazar na aunda.

Gumm gaya main us kudi de,
Chehre de vich gumeya rehnda,
Us de gham vich ghulda rehnda,
Us de gham vich khurda jaanda.

Us kudi nu, meri saun hai,
Us kudi nu, apni saun hai,
Us kudi nu, sab di saun hai,
Us kudi nu, jag di saun hai,
Us kudi nu, Rabb di saun hai,
Je kite, pad di ya sunn di hove,
Jeyundeya vi oh mar rahi hove,
Ik vaari aake mil jaave,
Wafa meri nu daag na laave,
Nahi taan methon jeeya na jaana,
Geet koi likhya na jaana!

Ik kudi, jida naa M....
Gumm hai !
Saad muraadi, Sohni phabat
Gumm hai, gumm hai,

Gumm hai..................

Bade chir ton gumm hai,
Hun waapis aaja Yaara!

Teri lod hai Saanu,
Bas hun Teri hi thod hai saanu !!

A Beautiful Song

I don't usually listen to English songs, but I would like to share this one over here. The lyrics of the song really touched my soul, looked similar to the content that I normally write and think about. Here are the lines:

Feeling Blue,
Well I am trying to forget the feeling that I miss you,
Feeling Green,
When the jealousy swells and it wont go away and dreams,
Feeling Yellow,
I am confused inside, a little hazy but mellow.

When I feel your eyes on me,
Feeling fine, its sublime,
When that smile of yours creeps into my mind.

Nobody told you would it feel so good,
Nobody said you would be so beautiful,
Nobody warned me about your smile,
You are the light,
You are the light,
When i close my eyes,
I am colour blind.

Feeling Red, When you spend all your time with your friends and not me instead, Feeling Black, When I think about all of the things that I feel I lack, Feeling Jaded, When its not gone right, all the colours are faded.

Blinded by the light you shine, the colors fade completely
Blinded by you every time, I feel you start to hate me,

I am colour blind, I just can't deny this feeling....
Darius Danesh,
Colourblind

Hats off to the lyrics writer, it really proves that love & emotions always have a common meaning, no matter in what language they are expressed.........

Attitude is Everything!

By Francie Baltazar-Schwartz

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate.  He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say.  When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant.  The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time.  How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.'  I choose to be in a good mood.  Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it.  I choose to learn from it.  Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life.  I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said.  "Life is all about choices.  When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice.  You choose how you react to situations.  You choose how people will affect your mood.  You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.  The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business.  We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.  Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers.  While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination.  The robbers panicked and shot him.

Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center.  After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident.  When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"  I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.  "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry.  "She asked if I was allergic to anything.  'Yes,' I replied.  The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply... I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!'   Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live.  Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.

I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

Want to witness the positive side of my life? Try at your own risk....

For some of my previous posts, I have come to be known as a true delicate and emotional guy, full of negative thoughts, among my close friend(s). Just for that sake, I am coming up with this current post.

OK. So, when do the clouds of any negative thoughts hover upon us? When does a person feel totally detached from life? When does there comes a point in life when the person finds no particular reason to live? What causes a person to commit suicide? Why does a person believe that nothing in the world belongs to him or her? Why it gets so difficult to just pass the time? Why does life seems as just GOING ON?

Enough. I believe there is a single answer to all of the above questions. But what it actually is, is actually very hard to find.

You know that something is missing for sure, but are still unaware of that Something, what is it?

I guess it to be one's own confidence level towards life. Yes, it makes sense. Just a simple concept but yet so difficult.

Sometimes, some such kind of things happen that just kill your self confidence. These can be related to anything- your family, surrounding environment, you yourself, your colleagues, working atmosphere, colour of your bed sheet or maybe the clothes that you wear.

This is what I could collect upon thinking a lot. I may even be wrong but I know that you are always there to correct me up.

I would like to mention a good Sidhuism over here:

"Aadarsh purush wahi hota hai jo khud ko paristhitiyon ke anusar dhaal le ya phir paristhitiyon ko hi apne anukool bana le".
That's all what is in my hands, i.e. to improve. Now, lets see how much my surroundings favour me.

Mind it-- the person never changes his personality at will but definitely develops upon it once he or she comes to know about the shortcomings. The whole credit goes to the one pointing the mistakes.
Moreover, that person is the best one who can be the most useful in building the confidence and hence improving upon yourself. Benefit from him or her before its too late.

One more thing, positivity comes as a bye product of your self-confidence. Nothing so exceptional about it.

"How can you expect a treat from a dying fellow?"

A Lesson from the Sri Sai SatCharita

"The devotees have to trim their heart-lamp of faith and devotion, and burn in it wicks of love, and when this is done, the flame of knowledge (self-realization) will be lit up and shine brighter. Mere knowledge without love is dry; nobody wants such knowledge. Without love there is no contentment; so we should have unbroken and unbounded love. How can we praise love? Everything is insignificant before it. Without love our reading, hearing and the study are of no avail. In the wake of love follow devotion, dispassion, peace and liberation with all their treasures. We do not get love for anything unless we feel earnestly about it. So where there is real yearning and feeling, God manifests Himself. It includes love and is the means of liberation."

Now this is what I call as COMMITTMENT

A reason..........

Ye dil bhi kaisi ajeeb cheez banayi hai Bhagwan,
Jahan sab--hath,pair,kidney,liver insaan ke bas mein diye hain,
To yeh muthi bhar dil ka control use kyun nahin diya ?

Chahe ise jitna marji pakad ke rakho,
Par kambakhat apni harkaton se baaz nahin aata.
Jab bhi kisi par aa jaye,
Jeena mushkil kar deta hai.

Pehle to insaan sote samay hi sapne dekha karta hai,
Par ye dil jab kisi par aa jaye,
To neend to door ki baat,
Aankh khulte hi na jaane kaise-kaise sapne dikhata rehta hai.

Acha bhala aadmi khud ko ullu & chowkidar ki category mein add kar deta hai, jise aashiq kehte hain, aur raat bhar so nahi paata.

Insaan ko kya se kya bana deta hai ye dil,
Wo khud bhi samajh nahi paata.

Agar kandhe par apne chahne walon ka haath ho to usse zada confidence ki feeling kahin ho hi nahi sakti.

Sab dil hi to provide karta hai.

Par dukh ki baat to ye hai ki ye sab sirf tabhi acha lagta hai jab tak do chahne wale ek saath hon.

Sabse zada dukh to tab hota hai jab ye sab one-sided love ka consequence ho.

Khushi ke palon mein to hum sab bhool jaate hain magar yahi dil hai jo hamein:
Bewajah rulata hai,
Har pal satata hai,
Kisi layak nahi chodta.

In short, agar ye dil zindgi jeene ka maksad ban jata hai to baad mein zindgi se door bhag jaane ka reason bhi yahi dil ban sakta hai.

Some good lines

You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone
who will never be able to repay you.

The best portion of a good man's life - his little,
nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear,
an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

The true meaning of life is to plant trees,
under whose shade you do not expect to sit.

I expect to pass through life but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do to any fellow being,
let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it,
as I shall not pass this way again.

The best things in life are nearest:
Breath in your nostrils,
Light in your eyes,
Flowers at your feet,
Duties at your hand.

Then do not grasp at the stars,
but do life's plain, common work as it comes.

A good character is the best tombstone.
Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered.

Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another's trouble,
Courage in your own.

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong.
Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

You cannot do a kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.

PATIENCE, it Helps or it Kills......?

Lets try to figure out something about the term PATIENCE today. Its my favourite piece of advice to any kind of a problem for anyone, I have joined a community 'Prayer and Patience are my weapons' on orkut, I fully believe in the concept as well but what so happened now, that I have chosen this very topic for my post over here?

Advices are always for others, very easy to suggest yet extremely difficult to be worked upon. We never hesitate in providing free suggestions but what if we ourselves have to carry on the same? I suggest people not to waste time, not to lose opportunities, to listen to the heart and not the mind, to forget about the rest, to avoid situations where you dont have to say 'Kaash !' in the end and what not.

But what happens to me when all these things apply on myself? Kehta to main bahut kuch hu, par aksar bhul jaata hu, ke hun to mai bhi ek insaan hi. On such occasions, I feel totally lonely as there seems no one to share my feelings with except my dear blog, then I realise that it might be none other than my patience which is responsible for my lonliness, what am I waiting for?

I remember a song(video) by Amrinder Gill, "Tere darshan bade zaruri", in which the person waits and waits and waits for I dont know what but finally he is seen watching his love sitting behind on a bike with her husband and at that very time he is advised by an old man who used to observe him daily
"Bolna painda e kaka, bolna painda e".

Us bande ko ye gyan tab jakar mila but main to iske bare mein abhi likh raha hu par implement kab karunga?

Yet another recent song to be mentioned, "Haule Haule", from 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' where SRK is seen playing a simple person like me who is so desperate to express his love but is trying to talk to and convince himself to be patient.

These are just modes of entertainment, the songs and movies, but what to do in real life scenario. What is the purpose of such songs, can we draw out any moral out of these and then can we implement those in our lives? Obviously, we can but what about the success rate? How can we analyse that before implementing? We cannot.

So, my dear readers, please learn something out of this and let me also know whether something worked out or not. Till that time, I shall be using my other weapon, PRAYER, in order to have my goal achieved.

Bada ho gaya yar, chaddo duniya daari,
Ye saale duniya wale to hote hi ghatiya hain, Khud to kisi layak hote nahin, Doosre ko kuch karne nahin dete!!! Inka to kuch hota nahin, Agar koi inki wajah se, bewakuf bankar, step back karle, To usi ko apna success maan ke baith jaate hain!!

LOVE...........???

I was asked about what is love quite a long time back, around 5-6 months ago by a very close friend. I even answered but probably I feel I can answer it in a better way now.

Love Will Get You Through Times Of No Money Better
Than Money Gets You Through Times Of No Love.

The spaces between our fingers were created so that another person's fingers can fill them up.

When you love someone, draw a CIRCLE around your names instead of a heart because hearts can be broken while circles never end.

You will know when you really love someone when you want her to be happy even if her happiness means that you're not a part of it.

If I were to describe love, I would compare it with what one snowman did to another snowwoman - he gave her a warm embrace and they melted in each other's arms.

If I had the letters "HRT", I can add "EA" to get a HEART or a "U" and get HURT, but I'd rather choose "U" and get HURT than have a HEART without "U".

You never lose in loving. You lose in holding back.

Dream what u want to dream
Go where u want to go
Be what u want to be
Because u have only one life & one chance to do all

When you tell someone something bad about yourself and you're scared
they won't love you anymore. But then you get surprised because
not only do they still love you, they love you even more.

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You know that your name is safe in their mouth.

Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your food,
without making them give you any of theirs.

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.

Love is when your mommy makes coffee for your daddy and she takes a sip
before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it
everyday.

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him
alone all day.

I know my elder brother loves me because he gives me all his old
clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.

When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little
stars come out of you.

Love is a bird,
It needs to fly
Love makes you scream,
It makes you sigh,
Love is a wave,
Waiting to crash on the shores
Love is like the season's first rain
Ready to pour
Love is the moist flower
Covered with morning dew
Love is a tonic
To cure your soul
Love is a book,
Don’t judge it by the cover, you need to go through to feel its power
Love is like a rose,
Blooming from the bud
Love is a gamble,
Where even a loss means something
Love is a mystery
No one can solve it better than the LUCKY TWO!!

***
You really shouldn't say '
I love you' unless you really mean it.
But if you do mean it, don't be shy to say it aloud.

I can't bear this Pain Anymore..........

It can be disregarded once in a while, but the pain that you provide me everytime is getting unbearable now.

I lost my everything for your sake, my friends, my position, my heart, everything that was coming in between you and me but now when I seem to loose you, I am actually left with nothing.

Even tried extremely hard to forget our past, but I could not.
Its not even that you don't know but then why do you do so?
I don't ask for anything else but just a nice friend to talk to, to listen to, to walk along, to share my feelings with but each time I don't see this happening, I just get broken up completely.

I am just looking for a single person jiske saath formalty na karni pade balki dil khud hi majbur kar de saath chalne ko.
And I even expect the same from the other side as well. I just want you to be with me and only me when you are with me, completely.

Don't take me wrongly but I feel I have started taking you more seriously now, even expecting more from your side.

Don't know the reason but its definitely true. Tried to hold as much as I could but its out of my bounds now.
