Characteristics of my sun-sign

First of all, let me talk about my sun sign which is Pisces. If you are feeling impatient about yours, please follow this link

Pisces are the most impressionable of the twelve zodiac signs.
Pisces adapt well to their circumstances, both good and bad.

Pisces are socially popular because of their easygoing and likable manner.
When Pisces find the right situations, they are capable of some incredible deeds.
Pisces excel in situations where they can leverage their imaginative and intuitive nature.

Pisces make profound artists of all types because they possess great, vivid imaginations.
Pisces are often scatterbrains:Pisces can be so emotional, needy and intense that they can end up being a real drag to people around them.

Pisces are easily lied to because they so want to believe. No matter how often they are led astray by empty promises, they keep the faith and push on toward their personal ideal. Their dreamy and impractical natures can be a source of distress to those close to them. Being both optimistic and cynical, Pisces find it difficult to make up their minds on any issue.

When Pisces feel rejected or get the blues, they REALLY get the blues. Pisces are easily lured to drugs or alcohol for escape or distraction. Pisces should avoid this for obvious reasons, but particularly because of their highly addictive, compulsive nature.

Pisces can suffer from a general lack of decisiveness and are easily distracted from their objectives. Pisces have a propensity towards depression and restlessness when not feeling fulfilled.
Pisces will go out of their way to help a friend.
They are extremely sensitive and loyal.

They will take a friend's problem and make it their own and suffer with them:This is the weak spot of Pisces but any friend of this zodiac sign should know that although they are attracted to people with severe problems who desperately need help, this actually does more harm.

They might even lose their own identity in your situation.
They need a strong positive friend to make them strong.
Pisces like adventure, new situation and social events.

A Pisces friend will always have something exciting in mind and it is a very fulfilling, long lasting friendship.

Pisces men are the ultimate romantic, the sensitive men who feel with a woman: Pisces male is the ideal zodiac sign for the woman who complains that men are not sensitive enough, this man is!! This man lives in the world of dreams and needs a woman to keep him grounded. He always becomes emotionally attached. He needs a woman who can dominate him, but very subtly. She has to be able to help him steer clear of bad habits and bad thoughts. Pisces men need sensitivity, generosity and compassion, nurture him and he will nurture you back.

Compatibility of the Pisces with other Sun Signs

Pisces & Pisces (Feb 20-Mar 20)
Relationship Rating: 5
Passion: 7
Communication: 3

There is something often mystical about two Pisces together.
Pisces have an incredible capability to love in a universal sense.
When things work out between two Pisces they are almost
inseparable and fulfill each other in ways no other sun sign
combination can. Pisces are very intuitive about others but can
get lost in both their own and others emotions. They also have a
tendency to be unrealistic, avoid responsibility and be self
deceptive. Two Pisces together can result in a very unhealthy
relationship. In this combination it is very important that they
have compatible moons in more stable signs.

Pisces & Aires (Mar 21-Apr 20)
Relationship Rating: 3
Passion: 4
Communication: 4

A love match between Aries and Pisces is hard as they don’t
have a lot in common. Aries is cardinal fire and Pisces is mutable
water. Fire and water tend not to mix well and these two signs
are likely to misunderstand each others personalities and not be
able to fulfill each others needs. Pisces tend to be romantics
and inclined to trust their emotions. Aries, on the other hand,
have little patience for emotions. However, Aries will often
unconsciously use their emotions, especially those of anger and
outrage, to fuel their actions. The Pisces can learn to help the
Aries become more sensitive and in tuned with their emotions,
lending Aries purposeful action. If the two signs can recognize
their differences and treat each other with respect, they can
make quite a team.

Pisces & Taurus (Apr 21-May 21)
Relationship Rating: 7
Passion: 7
Communication: 6

A love match between a Taurus and a Pisces can be very
rewarding for both signs. Taurus is fixed earth and Pisces is
mutable water. Water and earth tend to mix well together.
Although some Taurus come off as gruff and unfeeling, the Pisces
will really bring out the tender side of the Taurus. The two can be
one of the gentlest, affectionate couple around. Problems can
arise if the Taurus does not have a compatible moon sign with the
Pisces. Sometimes the Taurus is just too practical and down to
earth for the dreamy and unrealistic Pisces.

Pisces & Gemini (May 22-Jun 21)
Relationship Rating: 2
Passion: 2
Communication: 4

A Gemini and Pisces love match is unlikely. Gemini is mutable air
and Pisces is mutable water. In astrology they form a natural
square to each other by sign. Squares signify challenges and
conflicts. In this combination the interest in each other is usually
too luke warm to gather the energy and desire to try and over
come any difficulties between them. The two can often have an
instant bond and liking to each other that often fades into active
dislike for each other. This sign combination especially seems to
be capable of hurting each others feelings which leads to feelings
of distrust and suspicion.

Pisces & Cancer (Jun 22-Jul 23)
Relationship Rating: 9
Passion: 8
Communication: 8

A Cancer and a Pisces together tends to make a great love match.
Cancer is cardinal water and Pisces is mutable water. In
astrology these two signs form a natural trine, the most beneficial
aspect in astrology. These two can have a great, enduring love.
Between them there is an intuitive understanding and recognition.
The emotions and feelings of love and passion between them can
reach great heights. Usually the only pitfall in this relationship can
be depending on each other too much and losing their separate
identities. There is also a possibility of losing themselves too
much in each other as to loose touch with reality.

Pisces & Leo (Jul 24-Aug 23)
Relationship Rating: 2
Passion: 2
Communication: 2

These two signs often have trouble interacting together due to lack
of common interests and understanding. Leo is fixed fire and
Pisces is mutable water. Leos are often exuberant while the Pisces
tends towards moodiness. Both characteristics will irritate one
another. When these two do click the Pisces can find a passion in
the Leo to help them steady themselves and also give them an
emotional outlet. Few signs can love and demonstrate that love as
a Pisces can and the Leo will be able to greatly appreciate this.

Pisces & Virgo (Aug 24-Sep 23)
Relationship rating: 5
Passion: 7
Communication: 6

This can be a great pairing. Virgo is earth and Pisces water, but both
are mutable. In the zodiac wheel these two signs are opposite.
Oppositions tend to bring a lot of attraction and these two can feel a
mystical connection to each other. When things work out between
these two signs they will both feel as if they have found their soul
mates. The major problem in this combination is Pisces is ultra
sensitive and moody and the Virgo is critical. There is also a tendency
to drag each other down because both tend to be pessimistic.

Pisces & Libra (Sep 24-Oct 23)
Relationship rating: 2
Passion: 1
Communication: 3

A love match between a Libra and Pisces is unlikely. Libra is
cardinal air and Pisces is mutable water. The two are likely to have
little in common. Pisces are very emotional and introverted. Libra’s
are easy going and really enjoy being around other people. The
Pisces will have a tendency to demand more emotional energy than
the Libra has to give. Both signs are searching for a soul mate but
will rarely find it in each other.

Pisces & Scorpio (Oct 24-Nov 22)
Relationship Rating: 8
Passion: 9
Communication: 7

A Scorpio and Pisces together is usually a great love
match. Both signs are water but Scorpio is fixed and
Pisces is mutable. Scorpio and Pisces both have powerful
emotions and they will recognize this within one another
and respond in kind. The Scorpio tends to help stabilize
the Pisces vulnerability as they realize few signs are as
devoted and protective as a Scorpio can be. In turn the
Pisces gentleness can act as a balm towards the Scorpios
stinging sarcasm and mis trustfulness. This sun sign
combination can strengthen and enrich each other as few
other combinations can.

Pisces & Sagittarius (Nov 23-Dec 21)
Relationship Rating: 1
Passion: 1
Communication: 2

A love match between a Sagittarius and a Pisces is unlikely. Both
signs are mutable but Sagittarius is fire and Pisces is water. Fire
and water rarely mix well together. In the zodiac wheel these two
signs form a natural square, signaling conflicts and challenges.
The emotionality of a Pisces is likely to confuse and aggravate a
Sagittarius. One things these two signs have in common is both
rarely have their feet on the ground. Both Pisces and Sagittarius
are philosophically oriented and they can probably have some
really amazing conversations together. This combination is more
likely to result in friendship than a romantic relationship.

Pisces & Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 20)
Relationship Rating: 7
Passion: 7
Communication: 8

This is usually a good sun sign combination. Pisces is mutable
water and Capricorn is cardinal earth. While the Capricorn is not
as emotional as the Pisces they can be surprisingly patient and
helpful in dissipating some of the more intense feelings and
insecurities of the Pisces. This is often a relationship of
responsibilities and duty. The Pisces will sense this intuitively and
open up to the Capricorn and the trust between the two will be very
strong. The Pisces will be especially appreciative of the Capricorn
stress while they pursue their ambitions and help them find useful
outlets for it. In a romantic relationship these two signs can love
each other with a simplicity that only strengthens itself over time.

Pisces & Aquarius (Jan 21-Feb 19)
Relationship Rating: 3
Passion: 1
Communication: 2

A love match between Aquarius and Pisces is unlikely. . Pisces is
mutable water and Aquarius is fixed air. Pisces are the most
emotional sign of the zodiac and can go from one emotional
extreme to another. Aquarius is perhaps the least emotional sign of
the zodiac. The lack of emotional energy of an Aquarius is likely to
confuse and aggravate a Pisces. Aquarius respect self control and
ability to reason and this is not strengths most Pisces have.

Beginning of the Valentine's Day

The history of Valentine's Day dates back as early as the fourth century B.C. in the Roman Empire. The holiday was originally set aside to honor Juno, the queen of the god's and goddesses and the goddess of marriage. However, today, Feb. 14 is better known as the day we celebrate St. Valentine.

The tradition actually began in Rome with a festival on the eve of Feb 15, the day, which began the Feast of Lupercalia. At the festival, Roman girls name were put into a jar and then drawn by young Roman men to decide who would be their date for the continuing festival the next day. Sometimes the dates would turn into partnerships that would turn into marriage.

However, the Claudius II was the ruler of Rome at this time and was unpopular due to the bloody wars he fought. Many men ultimately did not sign up to fight because they didn't want to leave their wives and children to fight, so in retaliation, Claudius II banned the festival and marriages.

Most of the Romans disagreed with this decree. However, a priest by the name of St. Valentine began to perform marriages secretly. In a secret, quiet, candlelit room, just St. Valentine and the couple would participate in a marriage ceremony. To his detriment though, St. Valentine was discovered on night by a guard while performing the marriage ceremony, and was thrown into jail where he was sentenced to death.

Many young people, including the daughter of a guard, would visit St. Valentine while he was in jail to lift his spirits. St. Valentine was eventually killed but before he died he wrote the guard's daughter a letter thanking her for her frequent visits. He signed the letter, "Love from your Valentine." Since then, St. Valentine has become known as the "patron saint of lovers", and people all over the world observe the holiday as time to remind themselves of love and friendship.

The tale of Heer Ranjha

Heer Saleti was an extremely beautiful woman, born into a wealthy Jatt family.Ranjha, also a Jatt, is the youngest of four brothers and lives in the village 'Takht Hazara' by the river Chenab.Being his father's favourite son unlike his brothers who had to toil in the lands, he led a life of ease playing the flute ('Wanjhli'/'Bansuri').After a quarrel with his brothers over land, Ranjha leaves home.It is also believed that Ranjha left his home because his brothers' wives refused to give him food.

Eventually he arrives in Heer's village and falls in love with her. Heer offers Ranjha a job as caretaker of her father's cattle. She becomes mesmerised by the way Ranjha plays his flute and eventually falls in love with him. They meet each other secretly for many years until they are caught by Heer's jealous uncle, Kaido, and her parents Chuchak and Malki. Heer is forced by her family and the local priest or 'mullah' to marry another man called Saida Khera.

Ranjha was heartbroken. He was left to walk the quiet villages on his own until eventually he meets a 'Jogi' (ascetic). After meeting Baba Gorakhnath, the founder of the "Kanphata"(pierced ear) sect of Jogis, at 'Tilla Jogian' (the 'Hill of Ascetics', located 50 miles north of the historic town of Bhera, Sargodha District, Punjab (Pakistan)), Ranjha voluntarily became a Jogi, piercing his ears and renouncing the material world. Reciting the name of the Lord, "Alakh Niranjan", on his travels around Punjab, he eventually finds the village where he is reunited with Heer.

The two return to Heer's village, where Heer's parents agree to their marriage. However, on the wedding day, Heer's jealous uncle Kaido poisons her food so that the wedding will not take place. Hearing this news, Ranjha rushes to aid Heer, but he is too late, as she has already eaten the poison and died. Brokenhearted once again, Ranjha takes the poisoned Laddu (sweet) which Heer has eaten and dies by her side.
Heer and Ranjha are buried in a Punjabi town in Pakistan called Jhang, Punjab. Lovers and others often pay visits to their mausoleum.

The tale of Sohni Mahiwal

Sohni was the daughter of a potter named Tula, who lived in Gujrat town in the Punjab near the banks of the Chenab. As soon as the 'Surahis' (water pitchers) and mugs came off the wheels, she would draw floral designs on them and transform them into masterpieces of art.

Izzat Biag, a rich trader from Uzbekistan, came to India on business but when he saw the beautiful Sohni, he was completely enchanted. Instead of keeping 'mohars' (gold coins) in his pockets, he roamed around with his pockets full of love. Just to get a glimpse of Sohni, he would end up buying the water pitchers and mugs everyday.

Sohni lost her heart to Izzat Baig. Instead of making floral designs on earthenware, she started building castles of love in her dreams. Izzat Baig sent off his companions to Bukhara. He took up the job of a servant in the house of Tula, Sohni's father. He would even take their buffaloes for grazing. Soon, he came to be known as "Mahiwal"(buffalo herder).

When the people started spreading rumours about the love of Sohni and Mahiwal, without her consent her parents arranged her marriage with another potter.Suddenly, one day his "barat" (marriage party) arrived at the threshold of her house. Sohni was helpless and in a poignant state. Her parents bundled her off in the doli (palanquin), but they could not pack off her love in any doli.

Izzat Baig renounced the world and started living like a "faqir" (hermit) in a small hut across the river. The earth of Sohni’s land was like a dargah (shrine) for him. He had forgotten his own land, his own people and his world. Taking advantage of the darkness of the night, when the world was fast asleep, Sohni would come by the riverside and Izzat Baig would swim across the river to meet her. He would regularly roast a fish and bring it for her. It is said that once, when due to high tide he could not catch a fish, Mahiwal cut a piece of his thigh and roasted it. Seeing the bandage on his thigh, Sohni opened it, saw the wound and cried.

From the next day, Sohni started swimming across the river with the help of an earthen pitcher as Izzat Baig was so badly wounded and could not swim across the river. Soon, the rumours of their romantic rendezvous spread. One-day Sohni’s sister-in-law followed her and saw the hiding place where Sohni used to keep her earthen pitcher among the bushes. The next day, the sister-in-law removed the hard baked pitcher and replaced it with an unbaked one. That night, when Sohni tried to cross the river with the help of the pitcher, it dissolved in the water and Sohni was drowned. From the other side of the river, Mahiwal saw Sohni drowning and jumped into the river and drowned as well. The Tomb Of Sohni In Shahdapur City Sindh, which is 75 km from (Hyderabad). According to the legend the bodies of Sohni Mahiwal were recovered from river Indus near Shahdapur and hence are buried there.
